HIS 21500 American History to 1865 Advanced Survey

(GE-AmGovHis) This course is designed for first-year history majors. This survey of American history begins its examination with pre-Columbian cultures and European contact and ends at the end of the Civil War. It will focus on not only the historical record, but also the evolving historiography of the period. The primary emphases will be on the political, economic, and social foundations of American development from European contact through the War of the Rebellion. Not open to students with credit in HIS 10500.
