COM 35800 Introduction to Game Design
Once considered merely a toy, video games are now more profitable and popular than virtually all other mediums. This popularity has led to video games influencing many aspects of our collective culture well as allowing for creative and even artistic growth in the creation of games. This course will analyze the rise in video game popularity, the psychological effects of prolonged gaming, debate the idea of game design as an art form, and provide students with the skills and opportunity to create a 2-dimensional game. Lab fee required.
