ESC 20000 Introduction to Geographic Information Systems

This course introduces basic concepts necessary to an understanding of geographic information systems including its purpose, hardware, software, databases, and application. ESRI ArcGIS software will be used to display various databases, and students will design and execute cross-disciplinary projects in order to demonstrate the uses of GIS as a spatial analysis and decision making tool. Lab fee required. Not open to students with credit in GEO 20000.
