SPA 41800 The Spanish-American Short Story

(GE-CrsClt) This course examines the evolution of the short story in Spanish America from its beginnings in the 19th century to the present. The approach is historical and literary, based on the study of works representative of various literary tendencies, including romanticism, realism, naturalism, modernismo, criollismo, the avant-garde, the "boom," the "post-boom," and other contemporary phenomena. Taught in Spanish.
