21.3. Adequate Clinical Experiences
Students are expected to have a breadth and depth of experience in clinical clerkships that provide them with exposure to a range of patients and settings. While the Program is responsible for ensuring that students have clinical experiences that provide them access to the various required encounters, as adult learners it is incumbent upon the student to advocate for their learning needs in the clinical setting.
Students’ experiences will be tracked using the E*Value logging system. The PA Program will review student records and student evaluations of preceptor/sites evaluations at the end of each clerkship to ensure they are meeting program-defined expectations. Students will be held responsible for the accuracy of their patient encounter logs. Students found to be logging inaccurately to meet expectations (cheating) will be disciplined according to the Institute’s academic integrity policy. The following represents the types of experiences students are expected to encounter during their clerkship year.
