LLSS Exception
A student approved for reasonable academic access accommodations, is allowed to record, if an audio and/or video recording of classroom activity will specifically address the student’s need for equal access to the learning environment. Library & Learning Support must approve this request in advance. This policy addresses the intellectual property rights of faculty; the recording of human conversations without all party’s knowledge of the recording as allowed by Illinois State Law (Illinois Compiled Statutes: 720 ILCS 5/26-4a); and complying with student academic accommodations under federal law (Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. 29 U.S.C. § 701 et seq.; 34 C.F.R. § 104.44.). https://www.nl.edu/librarylearningsupport/adaaccommodations/
Students in violation of the University Policy on Recording of Synchronous Classroom Activity should be addressed directly by the course instructor through the University Policy on Disruptive Classroom Behavior.
