Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP)
Students who are seeking admission to an Illinois licensure program or who were certified prior to July 1, 1988, are required by the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) to pass the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP) or an ISBE- approved equivalent. This information must be verified in the Illinois Educator License Information System (ELIS) by the Office of Admissions.
