PSYD 865 Assessment and Treatment of Substance Use and Addictive Disorders

This course addresses the etiology, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of substance use and other addictive disorders. It includes focus on sociocultural factors related to addiction, evidence-based treatment, stages of change and an overview of alternative treatment approaches (e.g. 12-step programs, harm reduction, and others). This course is part of the Illinois School of Professional Psychology PsyD curriculum. Pre-requisite(s): Admission to the ISPP PsyD program. Co-requisite(s): None. 1.5-3 semester hours
