Legal Technology Minor
Students completing the Legal Technology minor will be introduced to a broad base of foundational knowledge in legal documentation and analysis for discovery, which can be applied across all legal settings.
The new minor is designed to provide a pathway between higher education and the growing legal technology sector.
Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs)
Students will develop skills to master the following:
PLO-1 Collect, process, codify, and analyze extensive/complex data so as to generate insights, inform consequential decisions, and recommend changes for clients and managers alike.
PLO-2 Identify situational challenges that impede progress internally (and with clients) and develop multiple solutions that can directly address, mitigate, or solve the problem.
PLO-3 Prospect, qualify, and categorize prospective clients and analyze/develop value propositions that support sales teams in securing new deals.
PLO-4 Identify and demonstrate ways of working across lines of difference and leading teams through an inclusive and equitable lens.
PLO-5 Design ways of engaging with various clients and prospects to build mutual understanding, meet diverse needs, and tailor solutions based on unique context.
PLO-6 Disseminate, practice, and translate leadership/management mindsets, behaviors, and skills to inform decision making, meet goals, and increase value for others.
PLO-7 Develop new techniques for setting goals, backward planning, and managing complex projects with various constraints (time, resources, personnel, external environment).
PLO-8 Implement strategies for influencing others to achieve outcomes using different forms and mediums.
PLO-9 Synthesize and create new techniques for improving performance quickly and generating insights from failure, obstacles, and challenges.
PLO-10 Define and implement new frameworks and strategies to secure job placement.
Minor Details:
- Requires 30 QH for completion
- 15 QH must be completed at NLU
- Requires a minimum grade of "C" for each course in the minor
