Cisco Certified Network Associate, Baccalaureate Certificate
The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Certificate Program is designed prepare students to earn the Cisco Certified Network Associate certification and enter into entry level information technology careers. Students gain foundational IT and networking knowledge and skills as well as the necessary professional skills to succeed and grow in the IT field. This program is designed to be offered to undergraduate level students who are interested in working with one of Accelerate U’s employer partners immediately following the completion of the program.
Program Learning Outcomes
At the completion of the program, students will be able to:
PLO 1. Network Fundamentals: Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of computer networking concepts including hardware, software, data management, IP connectivity, and IP services, and apply this knowledge to the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of complex network solutions.
PLO 2. Computer Literacy: Utilize basic computer literacy skills to configure and maintain network devices, such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
PLO 3. Information Systems Security: Evaluate and suggest improvements to the security of information technology in an organization, including the implementation of best practices and tools to protect the infrastructure and data.
PLO 4. Collaboration and Professional Skills: Collaborate with peers and industry professionals, demonstrating teamwork and communication skills, to design and implement network solutions that meet real-world business needs, and understand the role of computer science and information systems in diverse, globally distributed work-teams and organizations.
PLO 5. Career Advancement and Exam Preparation: Utilize best practices and tools for personal career advancement, while practicing proficiency in exam preparation, including test-taking strategies, time management, and study techniques to pass the CCNA certification exam.
PLO 6. Communication: Demonstrate effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex technical concepts to team members, clients, and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
In addition to the Undergraduate Admissions requirements, applicants must:
- Successful completion of an interview with a member of the program Admissions Committee
- Successful demonstration of initial computer literacy and ability to follow asynchronous instruction
Program Details:
- Requires 25 QH for completion
- Requires completion of all courses at NLU
- Requires a minimum grade of "C" or better in all coursework
- Requires a min GPA of 2.0 for graduation
- Requires successful completion of the CCNA exam
