LAS 14525 SEMINAR: ORIENTATION TO THE ACADEMY (1)

This course will provide information for a successful academic experience. Topics will include the mission and history of the University and student support services, student responsibilities and the growth mindset. Students will examine their resources, skills and attributes with a goal of increased self-awareness culminating with the creation of a personal definition of success and significance. This course runs concurrently with the student's first semester of courses at Ottawa University and is required for all first-year students.

LAS 15525 COLLEGE WRITING (3)

This course teaches students how to write effectively at the undergraduate level. Students will learn and practice the organizational, analytical, rhetorical, and technical skills foundational to success as college-level writers. Required of all first-year or transfer students during one of their first two semester at Ottawa University.   Fulfills Ottawa University's writing competency requirement with a grade of "C" or better.
