Music Associate in Arts (MUSIC-AA)

This program is designed to provide students with basic skills and concepts in the field of music and to prepare the student completely for transfer to an upper-level institution. Students may choose as their principal instrument—piano, voice, organ, all woodwind instruments, all brass instruments, percussion, guitar, and strings. Students should consult with an advisor at the college or university they plan to attend for the specific courses recommended by that institution. Note: Students will be required to pass a piano proficiency examination during the final semester, and are strongly urged to enroll in MVK 1111 and MVK 1112 to pass this proficiency examination.

Note: Students will be required to take a Music Theory Placement Exam. Students that do not pass the Placement Exam will be required to enroll in MUT 1001 Fundamentals of Music.
