Anth 546 Chinese Culture and Society
Issues in the study of Chinese societies today, including those found in the Chinese mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Indepth examination of questions surrounding kinship organization, religious practice, ethnic identities, gender relations, and economic and political change. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Anth 446 and may be taken only once for credit. Expected preparation: 8 credits in sociocultural anthropology (Anth 304 and Anth 305 strongly recommended).
