Introduction to main aspects of second language acquisition from sociolinguistic and psycholinguistic perspectives. Examines comprehension and production, stages in acquisition, cognitive processes, linguistic environment, individual variables, relationship between first and second language. Research project based on collection and analysis of language-learner language. Strongly recommended: Ling 392, Ling 391.
