M.A. in Biology Learning Goals

Students earning a Master of Arts in Biology from Rhode Island College shall have acquired:

1. Advanced knowledge of biological sciences extending beyond that required in the undergraduate curriculum.
2. Experience in designing and executing a meaningful original field or laboratory based research project.
3. The ability to conduct literature searches on timely biological topics and to evaluate and synthesize primary source materials
4. The written and oral communication skills necessary to interact effectively with fellow scientists in the professional arena
