Semester Credit Load
Undergraduate students must be registered for at least 12 credits for full-time status. The normal credit load for most undergraduate programs is 15 or 16 per semester.
A student who wishes to register for more than 18 credit hours must secure the approval of their department chairperson/program coordinator, subject to the following restrictions:
- Students on academic probation are not permitted to register for more than 18 credits.
- Students in good standing with a GPA less than 3.00 may request permission to register for up to 21 credits.
- Students with a GPA of 3.00 or higher may request permission to register for up to 24 credits.
Any exceptions to the above restrictions must be approved by the Associate Provost for Curriculum, Assessment, and Academic Support, 809-810 Maytum Hall.
