Semester Credit Load
Undergraduate students must be registered for at least 12 credits per semester to maintain full-time status. The normal credit load for most undergraduate programs is 15 or 16 per semester.
A student who wishes to register for more than 18 credit hours must secure the approval of their department chairperson/program coordinator, subject to the following:
- Students on Academic Probation are not permitted to register for more than 18 credits.
- Students in good standing with a GPA less than 3.00 may request permission to register for up to 21 credits.
- Students with a GPA of 3.00 or higher may request permission to register for up to 24 credits.
Any exceptions to the above must be approved by the Provost's Office (or designee)
