NURS 662 Primary Care Across the Lifespan
This course develops the graduate nurse's assessment skills and focus on the promotion of health in individuals across the age range and within family, community and cultural context. The emphasis is on adapting and expanding medically focused medical history and physical assessment to incorporate the assessment of traditional and nontraditional therapies, and to identify culturally relevant, age appropriate health promotion strategies for common episodic complaints and health conditions. Lifespan content is on physical findings and appropriate treatments for children, adults, elderly, and pregnant women, as well as diagnostic tests, differential diagnoses, and pharmaceutical treatments.
