PA 543 Holistic Medicine & Patient Care II Lab and Clinical Immersion

Demonstrates knowledge and skills required to evaluate and diagnose patients via completion of person-centered comprehensive and focused history and physical examinations and diagnostic workups. Obtaining and documenting patient encounters, applying observational and listening skills, appropriate selection and use of diagnostic equipment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic labs and imaging, and health promotion and disease prevention are emphasized.  Educational delivery is based on organ systems covered in the course. Course delivery methods for teaching and learning include interactive lectures, small group activity and discussion, virtual and in-person simulation patient encounters, and facilitated labs. Every trimester the student will participate in an on-campus immersion experience facilitated by program faculty to discuss, demonstrate and develop skills and concepts.
