HIST-920 The Roles and Realms of Scotland

The course will examine how the cultural background of Scotland impacted its political history. This coverage will include a study of traditional Scottish institutions and regional associations. Other areas of study will include Scotland's relationships with Europe and England up to the passage of the 1707 Act of Union. The course will also embody Scotland's role and responsibilities to the United Kingdom, the British Commonwealth and the European Union. Class trips to Scottish historical sites, visits to Edinburgh and London will be incorporated into the course. HIST-920 is only offered to Rouse/Schoenbrodt Scholars who are traveling to Scotland.
