Admission Examinations
- Most degree programs require submission of graduate admission test scores from all applicants. Please refer to your program of interest for specific test requirements. MGH Institute requires scores from the GRE (Graduate Record Exam). The GRE must have been taken within five years of the application deadline.
- Proficient command of spoken and written English is required for admission. Applicants whose first language is not English and/or whose undergraduate education was completed in a non-English speaking country are required to take the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language). The test must have been taken within two years of the application deadline, with a minimum overall score of 80 (internet-based test). The institution code for the MGH Institute of Health Professions is 3513. Score reports can be obtained by contacting ETS (Educational Testing Service).
- The TOEFL requirement is waived for applicants who are a native citizen of or received a baccalaureate degree from one of the following countries: United States*, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand and Canada (except Quebec).
- Additional admission examinations (i.e. MCAT, TESOL, IELTS) may be acceptable at the discretion of the program and the Office of Admission. Applicants who have taken an alternative test should contact the Office of Admission for additional information.
* U.S. Citizenship does not automatically exempt an applicant from taking the TOEFL if the applicant's first language is not English.
