CHPL 540 Spiritual Care in Pediatrics

This course explores the unique role of the spiritual care provider in the pediatric hospital or unit. We will examine how the chaplain serves as advocate for children, partner in support for staff and clinical providers, provides context in the midst of difficult medical and ethical decisions and helps children find their meaning and hope in developmentally appropriate ways in the midst of their hospitalization, from NICU to the general pediatric unit. Departmental permission required.
