HIS 111 World Civilizations I

This course introduces world history from the dawn of civilization to the early modern era. Topics include Eurasian, African, American, and Greco-Roman civilizations and Christian, Islamic and Byzantine cultures. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in pre-modern world civilizations. This course has been approved to satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement and the Independent Comprehensive Articulation Agreement general education core requirement in social/behavioral sciences.  This is a Universal Education Transfer Component (UGETC) course.

DRE 097 or appropriate placement scores (Amended 10/8/18: No prerequisite effective Spring 2019.)
