DMSU-280 Introduction to Vascular Ultrasound

This course is a condensed version of DMSU- 181 and DMSU-282, which includes lectures on carotid and peripheral vascular, arterial, and venous Doppler, as well as vascular physical principles and instrumentation. Anatomy, hemodynamics, patient history, clinical manifestations, non-invasive techniques, interpretation, and pathophysiology will be discussed. The students will have the opportunity to reinforce the theory taught in lecture with hands-on scanning in the lab component to this class. This course is required to complete the general or cardiac concentration of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
