EMSP-242 Airway Management, Patient Assessment And Trauma

Students will be able to establish and/or maintain a patent airway, oxygenate and ventilate a patient utilizing basic and advanced level skills, take a proper history, perform a comprehensive physical examination on any patient, and communicate the findings to others. Students will be able to integrate pathophysiological principles and assessment findings to formulate a field impression and implement a treatment plan for the trauma patient to include a transport decision. Students must maintain licensure as a Nationally Registered EMT-I99 (Maryland CRT99) for the duration of the course and during Paramedic testing.
