ARTT-214 Portraiture II
This course is a continuation of ARTT-213. Students move on to color work and portrait painting, using the combined knowledge of anatomy, drawing, color theory, and painting techniques.

Course Objectives
- 1. Define the planes and form of the head as two-dimensional shapes.
- 2. Visually proportion the shapes and spaces that define the head.
- 3. Demonstrate the rhythms and relationships inherent in the portrait.
- 4. Create the relationships and shapes that provide a likeness of a particular sitter.
- 5. Compose the portrait for effective artistic expression.
- 6. Use values to reveal form, underlying anatomical structure, and the effect of light on the subject.
- 7. Use color mixing to create the flesh tones, temperatures, values, and intensities that reveal form,
underlying anatomy, and the effect of light on the subject.
