This area of study prepares students to enter the important career of the biomedical engineering technologist working in hospitals, health care delivery centers, or for equipment manufacturers in field service. High demand for graduates worldwide offers exciting opportunities to become a vital member of the health care delivery system. Graduates are qualified to maintain the technical equipment necessary in modern health care, to evaluate new equipment, and to instruct in proper and safe use of the equipment. Theory in electrical, mechanical, fluidic, electronic, and biomedical circuits and systems with hands on laboratory experience is stressed along with knowledge of the modern health care delivery environment.
