DMSU 280 Introduction to Vascular Ultrasound

This course is a condensed version of DMSU 181 and DMSU 282, which includes lectures on carotid and peripheral vascular, arterial, and venous Doppler, as well as vascular physical principles and instrumentation. Anatomy, hemodynamics, patient history, clinical manifestations, non-invasive techniques, interpretation, and pathophysiology will be discussed. The students will have the opportunity to reinforce the theory taught in lecture with hands-on scanning in the lab component to this course. This course is required to complete the general or cardiac concentration of the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
