NURS 142 Fundamental Nursing Concepts

This course provides an introduction to the profession of nursing. Fundamental concepts, skills, and professional behaviors necessary for nursing practice will be examined. Through structured learning activities students acquire theoretical knowledge and develop competencies required to provide safe, patient-centered care for older adults. Clinical, skills laboratory, and simulation experiences will supplement didactic learning methods.

Formal admission into the associate degree Nursing program or Practical Nurse certificate program; BIOL 107, BIOL 203, CHEM 103, and MATH 132, 138 or higher
