FNPL 102 Fundamentals of Financial Planning

This course focuses on the knowledge and skills needed to manage or improve your personal financial literacy. Major topics will include concepts such as financial vocabulary, creating investment goals, utilizing available information resources, evaluating credit and insurance needs, and investing alternatives.

  1. Understand the basic vocabulary and concepts of personal financial planning.
  2. Develop realistic investment goals in a personal financial plan, utilizing available print and electronic information resources.
  3. Evaluate the appropriate use of credit, insurance needs, and the prevention of identity theft.
  4. Evaluate stock, bond, and mutual fund investment alternatives as part of a personal portfolio.
