HIPAA Requirement
The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) is federal legislation that mandates the standards and requirements for the electronic transmission of certain health information. This act seeks to insure all patients, clients and research subjects' health information is protected.
Students must document they have reviewed and understood this training by:
- Reviewing the MGH Physician's Self-Directed HIPAA Training presentation:
Physician's Self-Learning presentation (PDF file, 1.5 MB)
- Documenting review of the HIPAA information by checking the verification box in your IONLINE account.
OSHA Requirement
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training is essential in health care and educational environments. This training instructs students about general infection control principles and their management.
Students must document they have reviewed and understood this training by:
- Viewing the OSHA Training Video (Windows Media Player)
- Documenting review of the OSHA information by checking the verification box in your IONLINE account.
HIPAA documentation, along with OSHA and Academic Integrity, are all conditions of enrollment that must be completed by the first day of class.
