NH 845 Clinical Topics in Global Health
Prerequisites: Enrollment in Global Health CAS.
NH-842 and NH-826. This is the second of four
courses on global health delivery and disease
burden. This course will examine clinical care in
low resourced settings and developing countries
and will orient students to the current global
health issues specifically exploring regional
conditions, clinical practice, the role of
primary care, fundamental nursing and community
health care. Topics covered will include
evaluation of Demographic Health Survey data to
identify critical needs, leading causes of
morbidity and mortality including maternal and
neonatal emergency care, malnutrition, diarrhea
illness, HIV/AIDS, and chronic and communicable
diseases.
