Deferral of Admission
This status is given to those who were offered admission and submitted an enrollment deposit but need to delay starting the program for academic or other reasons. Deferral requests should be sent by email to the Office of Admission, who will in turn send the request to the applicable program for approval. All students requesting a deferral should take note of the following stipulations and/or procedures:
- Email admissions@mghihp.edu and request a deferral. Please indicate your reason for requesting a deferral within the email, along with your name, start term and program of study.
- Please note that an enrollment deposit must be submitted before a deferral request can be processed and/or granted.
- All approved deferrals are valid until the next available start term, up to one year. After this time, all students who have not matriculated will be required to re-apply for admission.
- Once a deferral request is approved, the student will receive an email with instructions and requirements. Students who do not follow instructions and/or fail to notify the Office of Admission within the allotted time limit will forfeit their admission offer and deposit, and will be required to go through the application process again. Despite previous acceptance, there is no guarantee of acceptance to future start terms and/or programs.
- International students will be required to provide updated financial information in order to receive a valid I-20 immigration form.
- Please keep in mind that any and all students admitted off the wait list are not eligible for a deferral of admission.
- Newly deposited students are eligible to receive deferral approval one time prior to enrollment in any given program. Students requesting a deferral more than once will be automatically denied and will instead be required to submit a new application and go through the application process again.
- The Office of Admissions reserves the right to rescind and/ or revoke a deferral approval at any time.
