Prerequisites: concurrent enrollment in first advanced practice practicum. Pass/Fail,audit not available. Based on Meleis theory of transitions, this course explores the dynamic interplay between chronic illnesses, multiple physical, psychological, social, and behavioral domains during major points of change along the health and illness continuum. Life Stage Transitions focuses on transitions that result from individual and family development across the lifespan. Emphasis is on the role of advanced practice nurses during these transitions. The major goal is to help students understand the meaning, purpose, and effect of transitions on individuals, families, organizations, and society.
