HEXPH-455 Exercise Physiology

Prerequisite: HBIO-450/HBIO-452 or introductory College level Biology and Human Physiology or Human Anatomy; or consent of the instructor. This course will focus on the study of acute physiological adjustments and chronic adaptation to exercise. The effects of exercise and a physically active lifestyle on the cardiorespiratory, neuromuscular and endocrine systems will be examined. Students will apply the theoretical concepts of exercise physiology to evaluate the treatment and prevention of chronic diseases, health promotion, and sports performance enhancement.
