22.5. Problems between Student and Preceptor

Students are encouraged to initially attempt to resolve any issues that may occur at a clinical site or with the preceptor. This is an opportunity for a professional dialogue between the student and preceptor. If the student feels s/he is unable to resolve the problem, then the student should contact their faculty advisor or BWH/MGH clinical coordinator. Concerns should be addressed early and brought to the attention of program faculty as soon as possible. Problems may be in areas such as personality conflicts, communication issues, and adequacy of the learning experience.
