Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD)
The Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity (COTAD) is a 100% volunteer led and operated 501(c)(3) non-profit occupational therapy organization focused on addressing issues of systemic racism and oppression, occupational injustice, healthcare equity, and educational decolonization. The COTAD Chapter at the IHP was founded in 2019 and is designed to support occupational therapy students and faculty to work together to develop and promote diversity and inclusion within occupational therapy education programs and in the profession. Both COTAD and the IHP Chapter create opportunities and resources to foster open conversation and increase awareness of different lived experiences to increase cultural humility and provides its members the opportunity to connect with each other and the community at large. The IHP COTAD Chapter meets and holds educational events once per semester.
