PA 733 Essentials of Pulmonary Medicine

Prerequisites: Matriculation into the MPAS Program.  The course provides students with a comprehensive look at the diagnosis and management of common diseases and conditions of the pulmonary system, beginning with normal anatomy and physiology followed by pathophysiology, genetic manifestations, and epidemiology. Students will then explore risk factors, signs, symptoms, and diagnostic studies that provide the foundation for  the diagnosis and treatment, including pharmacotherapeutics, of common pulmonary conditions. Concepts of prevention, patient education, chronic disease management, and follow-up will be covered.
