HWRIT 511 Foundations in Writing 1

Prerequisites: None. Accurate, clear, and professional communication is a necessary skill for health professionals. Both in academic and clinical settings, there are expectations for how to write. In this course you will learn to: 1) correctly use the English language in academic writing, 2) use strategies to improve your writing, and 3) become familiar with using conventions of academic writing in North America. This course aims to prepare you for graduate-level writing through a variety of learning activities including videos, readings, assignments, and quizzes. NOTE: You will not be producing a long piece of writing in this course; rather, you will be practicing sentence-level basics, with some attention to paragraphs and paper format.
