DNP 866A Discovering the Theory and Science of Doctoral Nursing Practice
Prerequisites: Students will need to have completed all MSN level courses to progress to this program. Newly matriculated post masters students must complete biostatistics (IHP course # HP-850) within the last ten years and any designated MS level deficits for those without an MSN. In this first semester doctoral course, students will prepare for doctoral practice by reflecting on and critiquing their nursing practice. Students will develop the ability to identify sources of information and systematically evaluate literature. Students will learn to use evidence and theory to appraise population health and identify interventions for improving health care.
