This is an introductory survey course with emphasis on technology skill development and appropriate ways to use technology across the curriculum with a focus on the early childhood and elementary classrooms, including the needs of special education students. Students learn computer literacy and its use in education through hands-on activities, involving word processing; presentation software; graphics and instructional software; basic web design; and Internet resources, including the "cloud" and interactive online tools. Students create technology projects and discuss and reflect on effective integration strategies for utilizing those projects in the classroom, with computers and other digital devices.
