Organizational Leadership, M.S.

The purpose of the Master of Science in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) is to prepare students with skills and competencies to be effective leaders within private and public sector organizations.

The program combines theory and practical application of leadership principles to initiate and implement positive change in organizations. Students gain the skills and competencies necessary to establish action plans and achieve goals. Leadership positions are found at all levels within an organization and this program prepares students to grow and advance in their profession.

Graduates will be prepared to develop strategies and achieve strategic goals in all types of leadership and business settings. Students gain foundational knowledge and a deeper understanding of business practices to become an effective leader and inspire organizational change.

This program is offered at the NLU's Florida Regional Center and delivered in a blended format. 

Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs):

  1. Analysis and Integration. Evaluate theoretical and practical aspects of organizational leadership and business practice to develop strategies to achieve organizational and strategic goals.
  2. Ethics. Analyze ethical and legal principles to apply in leadership and business settings.
  3. Communication. Communicate information in a format appropriate to stakeholders to meet organizational goals and priorities.
  4. Management. Evaluate the skills and processes in organizational settings for consistency between existing systems and necessary competencies
  5. Leadership. Apply leadership action and practices to organizational and business environments.

In addition to the College of Professional Studies and Advancement Graduate Admission Requirements, the program requires:

  • Written statement of academic and professional goals. This statement is one of the criteria used to evaluate the person’s application. The applicant should present reasons for selecting the program. Reasons should include career goals and specific indications of how the program of study will help them realize these goals.
  • At least two signed and sealed letters of recommendation, academic in nature, regarding the applicant’s capacity for graduate work.
  • Faculty review
