PSYD 753 Survey of Diversity and Multicultural Psychology

(Formerly PP 7339). This course combines an overview of issues of diversity and multicultural competence relevant to the field of clinical psychology with a focus on self-understanding in a diverse society. The clinical relevance of attribution, stereotyping, oppression, acculturation, identity development, and other related phenomena will be surveyed. Also, students will be given opportunities to reflect on their own personal and professional development and on the statuses and categories they occupy through discussions, activities, assignments, and exams.
