The course examines case studies of the interaction of past and present societies and the natural environment. Each case study evaluates how and why historical, geographic, economic, civic, and social forces influenced the development and the impact of the human-environmental interaction. SSE 513 Exploring Social Studies Content

This course will introduce students to the disciplines of social studies (history, geography, economics, political science, sociology, and anthropology) and engage them in completing a multidisciplinary project that involves applying the disciplinary concepts of those subject areas. It is designed to help students fulfill a general education requirement in social studies. The course is offered online and has 2 semester hours of credit. Pre-requisite(s): 3 semester hours in the social sciences (history or geography or economics or civics or sociology or anthropology or political science). Co-requisite(s): None. 2 semester hours
