STEM 415 Inquiry-Based STEM Topics in Secondary Math Education

This course will center Culturally Sustaining Pedagogy (CSP) and Intersectional Anti Racist Education (IARE) framework as it explores various models and examples of STEM teaching (e.g. makers spaces, tinker labs, design thinking, robotics etc). Additionally, the course will explore the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in STEM Education. Students will decolonize their own thinking and practice by 1) integrating how families and communities engage in (in)formal STEM education 2) interrogating their own identity, power and privilege in relation to marginalized communities they will serve.
