Supervised learning experience in various health care facilities. Specific assignments: statistical applications, computer applications, coding, performance improvement and risk management. HIM 2813C Coding Professional Practice This is a professional practice course for coding and will include intense exposure of all coding and reimbursement systems learned in the program. It will consist of a practicum utilizing case studies, scenarios, and coding examples in CPT, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS, etc. Students will reinforce learning and apply coding guidelines for appropriate reimbursement in both the inpatient and outpatient settings using 3M, Quantim, and V-Lab applications and exercises.
