Conduct Appeal Process

  1. The student will have the right to appeal any decision or sanction imposed by the Judicial Review Board.
  2.  The student may appeal the decision in writing to the Vice President of Student Affairs within 5 class days of the notification of the decision.
  3.  The Vice President of Student Affairs or designee will review the appeal without a hearing. The written appeal of the student will be reviewed along with the recording of the hearing and all documents submitted at the hearing. Grounds for appeal are limited to the following
    1.  the student’s procedural rights were violated in the hearing process
    2.  new information is discovered that was not available at the time of hearing  
    3. the information presented does not support the decisions; or
    4.  the sanctions imposed were not appropriate for the violation.
  4. If the decision is overturned, the Vice President for Student Affairs or designee may modify the decision and/or disciplinary sanctions or may remand the case to the Student Judicial Review Board for reconsideration or a new hearing.
  5. If the decision is upheld by the Vice President of Student Affairs, the sanctions will remain in place and the decision is considered final and binding.
