In addition to the specific and individual courses, periodic assessments are conducted for all candidates with the purpose of determining advancement or retention. The Acting program requires an acting jury at the conclusion of each semester. An acting jury is conducted at the conclusion of the fourth semester to determine continuance in the program. A public senior recital is presented in the fourth year. Students on academic probation will not be permitted to participate in public performances.

Acting majors are required to complete Theatre and Dance Productions obligations every semester, which are practical extensions of the classroom. Theatre and Dance Productions credits do not count toward the total number of credits required in the Acting major. Acting majors must successfully complete a minimum of 30 upper level credit hours. Further details and requirements are contained in the Student Handbook for the Department of Theatre and Dance.
