Open Records Act
Access to public records is encouraged to foster confidence in government, to provide the public the opportunity to evaluate the expenditure of public funds, and for the efficient and proper functioning of its institutions. Georgia’s Open Records Act – Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) §50-18-70 et. seq. – provides that all public records of any agency must be made available for inspection or copying unless they are specifically exempt by law. Generally, these records must be made available within three business days of the receipt of request. It is the policy of the Athens Technical College to provide access to all public records in accordance with the law. Open Records requests should be directed to the following individual at the college: Dr. Leslie Crickenberger, Open Records Officer/Executive Director of Human Resources, Athens Technical College, 800 U.S. Highway 29 North, Athens, GA 30601; lcrickenberger@athenstech.edu.
