MAST 1090 Medical Assisting Skills II (1-8-4)

This course furthers student knowledge of the more complex activities in a physician's office. Topics include the collection and examination of specimens, CLIA regulations and risk management, urinalysis, venipuncture, hematology and chemistry evaluations, advanced reagent testing, the administration of medications, medical office emergency procedures and emergency preparedness, the principles of IV administration, rehabilitative therapy procedures, the principles of radiology safety, and maintenance of medication and immunization records. Students must pay a $30 supply fee when registering for this course.
